About the event

Neonatal care sits at an intersection between perinatal and paediatric care. What makes it unique? What are its distinctive features? On the one hand uncertainty is a core aspect of the neonatal context. At the same time, clinicians working in this specialty are exposed daily to the few certain and potentially painful realities of human existence: birth, death and everything in between.

What is the meaning of this and how do we make sense of it?

How can psychological professionals hold space for the painful realities of their neonatal colleagues, whilst navigating and organising their own feelings about this work?

In this webinar we will explore an existential perspective on both:

  • the experience of neonatal babies, families and staff

  • how psychological professionals can help
